I heard that the pitch had quite a few divots out, and with the temperature dropping it could have been an ankle breaker. If AP called it off fair play to him.

Read their manager’s comments on page 4 of the online match programme:-

“Rushden will bring tremendous support and we will need to be at the top of our game and dig in on a challenging surface if we want to get all three points today.”

Clearly they already recognise they have a poor playing surface so throw in the recent low temperatures and freezing conditions it’s no wonder the referee deemed it unplayable.

Why this wasn’t recognised a few hours earlier beggar’s belief. :fool:

Just seen Beaconsfield on the TV news. Don't think they will be playing there monday night. Did those who were in the ground at 2.15 get their money back? Interesting editorial about late postponements in today's NLP which covered yesterday's scenario exactly.
