It is a well known fact that too much salt is bad for your health so mindful of this Haydn deliberately ensures that it is a tad on the damp side so footy fans don’t sprinkle too much on their chippies.Brownie wrote: ↑Wed Nov 29, 2017 8:54 am Final shout out for The Burger Monster who was having his chips judged last night by the Cambridge City Chippy Inspector, and with a score of 58/70 he has gone above Aylesbury FC to the top of the Chippy League Table. I did warn you H, Damp salt cost you points, need to get a cover over the Condiments table.

A great performance last night - Lorraine was clearly man of the match for me! Works his socks off and always a threat!! Great to have so many options! Talking of options, anybody know what's happened to Smithy and Hoban??

Peaksie mentioned on Saturday that Smith has been unavailable and Hoban has been away on a course connected with his work.UttoDiamond wrote: ↑Wed Nov 29, 2017 1:23 pm Talking of options, anybody know what's happened to Smithy and Hoban??
On another note we now have the second highest goal difference Steps 1-4 along with Hereford on +30 just a goal behind Slough who are on +31.

The other player the Cambridge manager moaned about being absent was Captain Ian Miller, well he's even more absent now as he left the club today, played at a good level in the past including being part of the Cambridge Utd team that got promoted back into the football league.

He certainly hobbled away from that tackle with the Northwood lad who suffered a broken leg and hasn’t featured in the squad since.

Now the test is to see if the form keeps up over the usually wobbly December-January period. Hopefully Moneyfields can do us a favour and lose a few games over that period, because apart from them and Beaconsfield I don't think there are many other candidates to take the top spot.
I was only hoping for promotion this season, but I'm starting to think we should set our sights on the big shiny thing...
(Now I've jinxed it!)
