Out of interest, has Sam actually signed for Banbury United? No mention of him in their match yesterday against Easington Sports and their website has been mentioning recent new signings such as Kevin Langmead and other players from last season including Westbrook who have re-signed.

Yes disappointing to see Sam leave. An absolute top class person, clubman and professional who always conducted himself impeccably. As our Club depends, to a large degree, on matchday receipts surely we won’t want to start playing competitive fixtures until we are allowed to have unrestricted attendances?

The Southern League has emailed clubs with an update on the new season:

They say meetings on Friday/Monday with the FA & other leagues have been positive.

As a result “it is looking highly possible that we will be able to commence the 2020/21 League season mid-late September".
