Re: [ Tue 21st Feb ] v Spalding Utd, KO 7:45pm NPL1S HOME
First half was as good as we've played all season home or away, the only thing missing was a goal for our dominance. The penalty was a definite turning point in not only did they score but the lads seemed to lose their heads a bit, we stopped using the ball and Spalding started to get on top. The wi...

Re: [ Sat 11th Feb ] v Belper Town, KO 3pm NPL1S HOME
Sometimes I really do think are you lot (as in the above posters) supporting the same team as me??? Today I saw a clearly injured player giving his heart and sole for his team! I barely noticed that Sam Brown was missing and ably replaced by Ben Ford (who was superd), Ben Farrell in midfield covere...

Re: Rushden Town Colours
This is an idea I really like. I've never liked the yellow and black kits and a nod to the formative clubs would be greatThree of Diamonds wrote:Maybe retro Russians & Diamonds kits for 2nd and 3rd at some point? One green and white the other red and blue stripes.

Re: Rushden Town Colours
Rushden traditional colour was Red, that's why nickname of Russians, although I think we played in yellow for a bit. I definitely remember a yellow away kit but not ever a yellow home kit. The colours I saw us in were red home and blue and yellow away. Although I only started in 1987 so they may ha...

Re: The Past
1. Speaking as a Rushden Town fan prior to the merger I can honestly say that I wouldn't change a thing. Even after the original R.D.F.C went out of business our clubs are stronger for being together. 2. Speaking honestly I feel that after Max left that our downfall was probably inevitable, it was c...

Re: Rushden Town Colours
Rushden definitely played in green and white in the 1970s but in the late 80s wore an all red strip. I don't have any photos confirming this though

Re: Demolition of Nene Park?
The best way to get R&D supporters to watch the reformed club would be to move in to Nene Park. Best way is to get a ground within walking distance of the majority of the population. Spoke to two family members who have said they will start watching AFC if we go to Hayden Rd because they can wa...

Re: [ Tue 31st Jan ] v Spalding Utd, KO 7:45pm NPLC HOME
Some very positive performances last night considering the relative strength of the teams. Ben Ford was superb and if he continues that sort of form then he can be a very decent squad member for the rest of the season. Farrell was outstanding for me especially considering how difficult the condition...

Re: Heath
Ben certainly hasn't let us down when he's played but Imo until there is a significant downturn in finners form I would stick with him. Finners has had a fairly steady season and I certainly don't remember him letting us down too much

Re: Jake Newman
For me Jake just hasn't cut it this season, although his record at Stamford and Spalding would suggest an improved player he doesn't look any different to the player we had in div 1 to be honest. I for one would not miss him if he was to leave and I think Taylor has proved himself a much more useful...
