Re: [ Sat 25th Jan ] v Nuneaton Borough, KO 3pm SLPDC AWAY

What a horrible game of football to watch and then glorious last few minutes with a superbly taken penalty by Ben. He was really cool there. The standard of the Referee was again appalling today with just a constant succession of petty decisions and delay after delay. His time keeping also left us a...

Re: [ Tue 21st Jan ] v Hednesford Town, 7:45pm SLPDC HOME

A match like that under the lights, it doesn’t get better. Fantastic effort by 10 men and despite going behind at worst possible time they stayed in the game and the momentum grew second half. Could see their defence starting to panic and when the changes were made the chance came. I thought the cha...

Re: [ Sat 18th Jan ] v Stratford Town, KO 3pm SLPDC HOME

Sun was out but it was bloody cold in the shade. Another good performance with the youngsters really starting to shine, well supported by the older heads. I’m not sure how this season will end but it’s clear the so called top teams are inconsistent and the title and play off positions are wide open ...

Let’s enjoy the results as they come. Think of the play offs after the February fixtures are complete. Some tough return fixtures which will show where we truly sit in a play off bid.
Mind we could pick some points in next three weeks which will bring crowds into Hayden Road.

Re: [ Sat 4th Jan ] v Barwell FC, KO 3pm SLPDC HOME

Its a good team performance when there is no obvious man of the match in a game you have won. I couldn’t pick one today. Strong in defence, lots of energy in midfield and three goals scored. Manager clearly enjoys this set up and we are accumulating points so lots of positives. One negative was the ...

Re: [ Wed 1st Jan ] v St Ives Town, KO 3pm SLPDC AWAY

Well 3 points away from home in this league has to be a good start to the year and keeps us comfortably mid table which is probably a fair reflection of the season so far. It was a game that we would expect to win against a clearly struggling St Ives. The new signing is physically strong, direct and...

Re: [ Tue 3rd Dec ] v Needham Market, KO 7:45pm SLCC HOME

What a flat and low key evening that was. Never felt like a cup tie more like a end of season with nothing to play for. A glorious pass for our goal from Casey was only highlight. They looked a very average side and a second goal would have finished it. However we played poorly inaccurate passes and...

Re: [ Sat 30th Nov ] v Stourbridge, KO 3pm SLPDC HOME

A real battling performance in the second half. It could have gone either way but think we just shaded it and a deserved 3 points against decent side. So good to see us keeping good habits and playing football not just route one. We defended well as a back 4 not missing Liam and Alex (too much) and ...

Re: Nabil Shariff

I remember towards the end of his stay with us we were becoming a little stale predictable and one dimensional. After Nabil left we developed imaginative attacking options with wing play and played some marvellous football. However I don’t think the change was down to Nabil departure more the other ...

Sam Johnson

Tweeted he is leaving club. Assumed Sam was missing due to injury but maybe not. I liked his pace and energy and disappointed in his lack of opportunities this season. Thought he would have combined well with Zac on right side. Good luck to him hope he finds a start.
