Re: Desperate measures.....
It was quite a second half to the game - after a pretty poor first half with the Poppies deserving their lead, but neither keeper having much to do. I couldn't work out how Will Muzvimbri could look so good at the Southern League level today when he looked one of the poorer players at UCL1 level when he played for BPW against us. The St Neots manager took a gamble and made all three substitutions early in the second half - and it really paid off.
There is also a suggestion on Poppynet that their supporters coach was so keen to get away after the game that it became stuck / damaged, and was still at the ground a couple of hours after the game ended.

This was just posted on the UCL Facebook Page..
If K*ttering are already planning to play at Latimer Park, why would BPW want to enter their Reserve team for next season? Or have the UCL rejected their proposal as K*ttering will be playing there too therefore fixtures would be difficult to organise with 3 teams wanting to play there on a Saturday afternoon?Burton Wanderers FC submitted a detailed proposal for their Reserve team for season 2013/14; this was rejected by the UCL committee. Burton Park Wanderers FC also advised that if this proposal was not accepted they would tender the resignation of their Reserve team from the end of season 2012/13 –Noted & accepted. Burton Reserves to withdraw from the UCL at the end of the season.

Re: Desperate measures.....
Is this a case of K*ttering having more clout and a possible influence regarding the apparent UCL decision and as BPW are strugglling at the wrong end of the table, what will happen to their first team?Hayden wrote:This was just posted on the UCL Facebook Page..

Re: Desperate measures.....
It's as simple as the UCL have rejected BPW's plan for the reserves to play at somewhere else apart from Latimer Park, as the alternative ground won't meet ground grading standards

Re: Desperate measures.....
I just had a quick look at the Poppynet forum (it's more fun than the facebook UCL page!!) and their manager put their defeat yesterday down to the players getting tired due to a lack of pre-season training
Re: Desperate measures.....
When you talk to the chaps involved, they express a bit more common sense, commenting that they would sacrifice the reserve team and BPW will be a feeder club for KTFuC. It would make better use of the facilities and they also have one of the largest youth football academies in the area. The team will benefit by moving to Latimer Park.
Re: Desperate measures.....
According to the Northants Telegraph the Southern League have refused an extension to the grading deadline, so they will start next season at Corby and move to Latimer Park when they recieve permission to do so. They expect all work to be complete by mid June :o
