2012/2013

Post by rudolph_hucker »

As I am parked up in my lorry on a Friday night, I thought I would try to sum up the season.

My best away goal, Alfies against Olney. That was the moment when I realised that I do love my club. Jaffs celebration said it all.
Worst away goal was Ashingtons winner. Gutted. Although we beat them with the singing, "we can't understand you" or my personal favourite regarding getting drunk.

Best home goal, Kings. Enough said. Although our second against Oadby had me dancing like a demented chimp.

Best away fans, The alky at Potton, lost his carer. Or the guy at Harrowby that seemed to have no idea where he was. The barmaid did ask him but he was clueless.
Worst fans to visit hmmmmm can you guess?
Funniest fans were the three guys at Oadby that kept flexing their muscles and feeling each others biceps.

I loved seeing so many Diamonds shirts in Rushden when we played R&H.

Worst away game was Eynesbury, shite weather shite performance.
Loved the welcome the clubs gave us.
To think all these memories yet twelve months ago we didn't even have a squad.

Spot on Lee :D

I'm so proud of our club and what we have achieved, the memories of this season are up there with the very best I have of following the Diamonds over the past 20 years and I think you've summarised perfectly the season - capped by a great evening tonight :D
RIP Dale Roberts - gone, but never forgotten !!

Wasn't this the one and the same goal?

Yes, it is why I put it in there (twice). I was behind the kick and said to y brother it was going in as it left his foot, the relief was so immense. I thought we had the on the ropes then.
