A very unfriendly friendly which made for a decent spectacle, the game had the feel of a competitive game rather than a pre-season kickaround.

Whilst it was by no means perfect today, this was a step in the right direction. The three new trialists were interesting and on first viewing all looked like they could genuinely add something to the team, which is more than can be said for most of the others we've seen so far in pre-season. The two wingers looked like they both had a trick and both were keen to get to the byline and get a cross in rather than cut inside, which is definitely something we've been missing. I'd definitely like to see all 3 again on Tuesday night.

A few first team regulars missing today. Hicks, Lorraine and Acquaye we know about, but no Johnson, Reynolds or Collard either.

Collard and Reynolds were on hols Tuesday, so assume they still are. Johnson don't know.
