Niall Cooper

Has tweeted that he's left the club. Basically due to the lack of opportunities and game time.

Shame as he’s a good keeper and Ben needs competition and pushing. Niall played well pre season but unfortunately when he got a chance after the Bromsgrove debacle it was for 2 games against very good sides behind a team that didn’t play that well and had a bit of rough luck, coupled with him making a couple of howlers. All the best to him and I’m sure he will have plenty of offers, no doubt Peaksy has something planned for a replacement.

Only saw him play once, but he made some decent saves to keep it at 3nil against Tamworth (A)

Agreed, it's a shame to see him go, having a good back up keeper is always a great thing to have! But can't blame him, sure he'll get snapped up and get some good game time

Problem at our level is that you can’t rotate keepers and it’s no surprise that Niall has decided that he needs regular game time and unfortunately his chance came when we were really struggling defensively and was the correct call when Ben was recalled who, I consider, should never have been dropped in the first place after the Bromsgrove defeat.
