I understand the Ploppies need to have a new 250 seat stand at Latimer Park in place by the ground grading dead line of 31st March 2020 to meet Step 2 requirements. According to a recent tweet from Stadium Solutions the club plan to submit a planning application in the near future but formal approval, as many are aware, takes a minimum of 8 weeks if there are no issues so if they follow this route there won’t be a stand in place to meet the ground grading deadline. I wonder if they will be demoted to Step 3 for next season? Does a lucrative derby meeting for both clubs beckon?

I see that there are also covenant issues to resolve over the purchase of land from the LA in the Scott Road area for a new ground which may have to be determined by the Secretary of State.

Hopefully they'll engineer their return to Step 3 on the pitch, rather than needing matters off the pitch to accomplish it.

If time is an issue, I imagine they will get the stand in place anyway, and then retrospectively apply for planning permission.

You would have thought so but the tweet from Stadium Solutions highlighted the planning application requirement so presume that they are not going down the ‘retrospective’ route. They’ll probably blag their way out of the problem with the FA as they did when they first occupied Latimer Park.

Very true. As we know, when it comes to ground grading it's all about your relationship with the person doing the grading and very little to do with whether or not the ground actually meets the specified requirements!

Anything to be read into the announcement that only 3 teams getting relegated from NL north & south, have they already got plans to remove someone? Or is just gossip mixed with wishful thinking.

What a load of tosh, we’re going to do this we’re going to do that, can we all imagine the atmosphere when they have 500 in one seated stand ?? Yes and empty in all other parts of the ground. Then up to 1100 I’m sure if the article ran to another page they would be in a 5000 capacity all seater stadium. Nice they aspire to have something like we have.

I don’t think Stephen ‘Tommy’ Cooper is now involved with Peterborough Sports and appears to have handed over the reins in May 2018 to Grant Biddle. The list of the club’s shareholders makes interesting reading and includes both their manager and his assistant who have a combined 20% shareholding in the club.
