About a 4 hour journey up the A1 to Washington and then A194, traffic permitting, nowadays to South Shields. Remember when the Club went to Ashington in the FA Vase a few years back it was a further 15 miles north and the A1 isn’t as good as it currently is after the completion of extensive road improvements after RAF Dishworth through to Scotch Corner and I reckon the FA wouldn’t sanction an overnight stay. An alternative route is A1/A19.

It would be quite marginal, especially given the limitations of coach travel - [*][*]"The grounds for making such an application are that it would be necessary for the Visiting Club to leave its Headquarters before 8.00am on the day of the match in order to arrive at the venue for the match no less than 90 minutes prior to the scheduled kick-off, based on reasonable travel time only (determined by reference to the AA Route Planner service) and including a stop of not more than 45 minutes.Trek wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2019 4:28 pmAbout a 4 hour journey up the A1 to Washington and then A194, traffic permitting, nowadays to South Shields. The Ashington supporters coach left at 7:30am - the team went up the day before.

About to head off in half an hour.
Anyone who is interested, the game is mentioned on the NPL Show and they also discuss South Shields as a side at the beginning:

Presume the early birds are arriving about now, all the best to everyone for a good match, performance and day out. Sorry I’m missing it but Krakow was just a bit to far to travel back from. Salt mines for me this afternoon fortunately with no wounds for it to be rubbed into. Have a great away day. Brownie (Senior)

As no midweek game Teresa has probably been there since Tuesday.

We weren’t terrible.... they were very good but our defence looked more than suspect for a couple of the goals.
We just look like we’re lacking in confidence in the final third massively!
And concerned about the lack of our fans there... long way I know but definitely could be looking at falling attendances as it gets colder if we don’t start getting results.
