Anstey title?

Post by sussexdiamond »

Harborough deducted 6 points by NPL for playing player under a two match suspension. Anstey can go top if they beat Corby on Tuesday. The games were against Gresley and Bedworth earlier this year.
Perhaps Stacey could explain how that could happen.

If you mean how is it possible to play an ineligible players then usually an honest mistake or a willful attempt to cheat.

In this case he had been suspended for two games yet they still played him.

We are using a new system this year that at our level is controlled by the FA - the system is not an easy one to navigate and I can see how this has happened because finding the information on bookings etc could be a lot easier!

We are recording our own bookings and cross referencing the FA site before each game as we feel it’s safer this way.

Thanks for that Richard. Spalding have two "easy" matches to play. Khalsa, who lost heavily on Saturday, and Coleshill so any slip up by Anstey against Corby could hand title to Spalding. If Anstey should win the league it means that either of Harborough or Spalding will be with us next season.... Providing we survive relegation.

Maybe a good moment to pull out the Non-League predictions spreadsheet...

It hasn't yet been updated to reflect the weekends games nor Harborough's deduction.
