Re: Cobblers vs K*ttering
Just goes to show why the FA cup is so important (or at least should be) for non league clubs, just imagine how much they will make from prize money, the share of the gate receipts from what will probably be a 6-7k crowd and BBC TV coverage, surely 6 figures?!
Just can't understand our failures in the competition over the last several years, not even like you can pinpoint blame as each time we have lost to a lower league side was with almost completely different playing and coaching personnel, the big Newark defeat was under Peaksy of course. For me I don't care whether you're playing Man United or Newark, every game in the FA cup should be treated like a cup final and as much as we begrudge them for getting pretty much the best draw they could have got, what K*ttering have done this season should be a motivator for what is possible if you do well in the cup.

But they don’t get the money straight away . So it’s taking a gamble investing a lot of money to get the staff and players in to then do well in the cups. Afterwards it’s a lottery

Not been a supporter as long as most, but what historical meaning would it have if it was us.oliv272 wrote: Tue Oct 15, 2024 8:12 am Agreed I was very jealous, the game doesn't really have the same historical meaning for K*ttering as it would if it was us. As for Harborough bit of a stinky draw but a chance to get into the 2nd round, the income for both clubs must be so lucrative from these runs - it still pains me how badly we played against Newark in our 2nd round defeat
Cobblers were playing K*ttering years before R & D were formed.

As much as I hate to admit, K*ttering were the better side, and deserved it. Cobblers were pathetic.
