A real shame.

We had some good spells under Michael, thankyou for the wild ride resulting in our reprive the season before last.

My one hope for the close season was to retain the core of this squad and build on it - however that looks unlikely.

It'll all be down to this appointment - hope the board take time to consider and get it right. I trust they will.

Weird one, you'd think given the last few years we've had we'd be better off keeping some stability.

Jermaine Defoe was spotted in the local area recently... A man can dream!

Stability is hard in Football, Managers, players come and go.
Just take the Team up the road, Team doing well, make playoff Final, loose and then your Manager still leaves by Mutual Consent.

Only those on the Board Know about the reasons, better offer with larger budget, or been told our Budget is being vastly cut due no Sponsor so dont think he will abe able to do anything next season.

I suppose we could speculate all day but until the beans are spilled we will have to wait.

As brutal as it may seem this is a correct and bold decision by the Board.
There is still time to appoint a new manager who has a decent "contacts" book.
He may well need an improved budget to retain the few good players we still have though.
It is no good just getting a popular ex player to please the fans (Burgess!!!) unless he has proven managerial and coaching skills.

Definitely a concern. Can only speculate that no sponsor= significant budget reduction, & players & MH have had/feel better offer is out there.
With no sponsor would we even be able to compete at step 4??
Dont want to end up like Walsall Wood(I know they overspent, but we could run out of capital for different reasons) & be unable to complete season

Was going to let this news 'air' but think it's really important I jump in to shut stuff like this down as I've also been approached directly by other supporters with similar concerns.

The club isn't under any threat. There is no budget reduction.

I'm not aware of a single player that has left us to date that has left us because of a better offer in terms of monetary value. In many of these cases we made no offer to them, simple as that.
They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....

Sorry mate but that CAN'T be correct let me explain;-

The club IS under threat and there will be a budget reduction and the way to avoid it is to buy your season tickets now and have extra goes in the monthly build the budget raffle :cheesy:

"Shut stuff like this down"??
Merely expressing a concern/opinion. Surely that's what a forum is for

But your comments served no purpose other than to fan flames. Nobody is saying you can't discuss things. But equally I have the right to respond if what's being said is incorrect and potentially damaging.

Important, I thought, to stop speculation of that nature. If the club had a significant financial issue then we would be honest about it.
