I'd also be interested in why the Conference are enforcing this, but not the football league - if Stevenage's OWS is evidence of that - with away fans forced to pay £18 to sit, when home fans can stand for £14:-

http://www.stevenageborofc.com/pages_4.php

"West and South Stands:
Adults :£18

Concessions (OAP's, UB40's and Students): £15

Under 18: £10

Family: £40 (2 adults and 2 U11 - these cannot be purchased on match days)

North and East Stand Terraces:
Adults: £14

Concessions (OAP's, UB40's, Students and Under 18's): £12

Under 18s: £8

Under 11s: £4

Family: £30 (2 adults and 2 U11 - these cannot be purchased on match days)

Visiting Supporters
Access to the ground for visiting supporters, is via the South Stand only"

Sara Pascoe wrote:Oh and another thing. On the subject of season tickets many said they couldn't afford forking out so much at one point in the year. I think the Club should look at monthly instalments as a way of getting round this, it would also ensure greater cashflow at times where we don't have many home games rather than a massive lump sum in June.

Adult ST on the PDB is £265, start payments in July to April = £29.50 a month. Much easier to manage.
The problem is ensuring that people pay the installments and chasing people up for the cash. The only secure way to do it would be to release tickets on a month to month basis, but what if a game gets called off?

Btw your family ticket idea isn't a bad shout actually, though it needs a bit of work to make it practical.

After reading some of these comments, I am genuinely concerned. The club is going to HAVE to drop prices, or start SERIOUSLY pressing the trust membership.

If you are new to the area, or you just want to take in a game, your definitely going to go and watch K*ttering regardless of how well they are doing. It's half the price moreorless for the same standard of football.

Whilst on the subject of price rises, i see the food at the ground has gone up significantly. A diamond burger is now 4 quid, didn't it used to be 3.20?
They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....

The price differential also seems to be OK at Wycombe, where they have standing for home fans only (£15 versus £19 for away fans)

Similarly at Cheltenham (£20 for away fans, £15 for home standing).

+1 on new fans.

The problem with dropping prices are seated season tickets. You can't drop the prices of those now because you'll alienate those who have just bought one. The reason why I mention this first is because due to this directive, we have to cut prices across the ground and you'll anger those who bought them early, thinking they would be getting a certain discount. Here's the breakdown if we start dropping admissions throughout the ground:

£17 - £391 for 23 games
£16 - £368 for 23 games
£15 - £345 for 23 games
£14 - £322 for 23 games

With a seated season ticket currently costing £325, you get the picture. Trust membership seems to be a way around it. The only other thing would be to offer concession to the seated season ticket holders, but that gets even more complicated.

Releasing tickets on a month to month basis would work. People could just set up a Direct Debit, you payment goes through you get the tickets. If the payment doesn't go through the Club would know and not give you your tickets until you paid for that month.

As BR says the Trust membership needs to be heavily promoted and that's just for regulars that don't have a season ticket. I'm not sure what we'll do about fairweather supporters, winning our first 3 games wouldn't be a bad idea but apart from that they'll just go to K*ttering and we won't be able to stop them.

You know the idea is growing on me. Could be something to look into.

Agreed about Trust membership. Not too sure about K*ttering atm, their friendlies have apparently been awful and the attendences haven't been massive (about 600) for them either.

One way could be to offer match bundles to fans. 3 for 4 deals would bring it to £12.75 for adults if taken up.

People seem to be forgetting the sort of experience you get at Nene Park versus the Rockinghorse - which is an awful place to watch football (as is Corby).

Maybe a stupid question but I take it you can take the completed trust application forms to the ticket office?

People will only pay so much more for the experience though and £7 is rather a lot just for a nice view of Conference football. A man wants to take his son to a local match on a Saturday, does he go to Rushden where he can get in for £23 or does he go to K*ttering where he can get into 2 games for less? :(
