The problem nowadays is that the ball stays light throughout the match and it is very easy for the ball to fly up and away over the bar. Although the weight of the ball, pre match, according the the Laws of the Game hasn't changed for the last 70-80 years modern balls don't absorb any moisture therefore have this tendency to fly when poorly hit.therushden wrote:yep, i agree. they try and power it home and it goes screaming over the bar.
some of these wonder goals they score in the prem are pure fluke. they just hit it as hard as they can and it goes anywhere. the pace has beaten the keeper.
