Team for the replay

Post by Three of Diamonds »

Well ! Where do we start? Saturday was obviously unacceptable and changes have to happen, so what's your team gonna look like? Here's mine ;-

....................Day

Osano......Miller.....Stuart.....Robinson

......Charles.....Johnson.....Power

......Smith......Howe.....O'Connor

I've really struggled to sort out a midfield I'm comfortable with. The left side looks particularly weak as Spence just isn't doing the business and we don't have Day available. I've gone for a youthful right hand side in hope that they'll run their tadgers off, and given Smudger his chance. If he can't do it against a BSN side, he'll probably be on his way. I've also decided to play Johno in the centre of midfield where he "should" be.
Your guess is as good as mine !

Agree with all apart from midfield. There is no way I would put Charles in the middle, I'm not one of the people who thinks he should go but I just cannot see it working at all. For me all our midfielders apart from Max are massively underperforming, and therefore I would be half tempted to stick King in.

Johnson has got youth on his side so will be given time, but I have completely lost patience with Power and Spence now. I would play Power tomorrow as his style will be more useful alongside two young lads.

I would also play Dale in goal. I'm a big Joe Day fan, but a change could do us good.

Finally, Osano needs to sort it out and Robinson need to get in gear fast. Osano was poor on saturday but to me it just looked complacent, which isn't acceptable but JE can sort it. Robinson has been poor all season though, I didn't see much point in signing Jamie Day at the start of the season, but he is twice the player Kurt is atm.

Agreed about Smith (give him this chance, but he's got to take it) and your post (that's a first! ).

I've made a few changes to your lineup and stuck Dale in goa (he needs a game for some match practice at least, Joe back in goal for Eastbourne) and Aynsley at right back. After Wrexham away last year, I've really wanted to see him get another opportunity (although it may be too soon to throw him into a game where he's going to get kicked). That said, Osano needs a kick up the backside.

I'll be there plus 1. There's not really a midfield 3 that i'd want to start but i'd go for the same three simply as there are no options!!!

Day
Osano Miller Stuart Robinson
Johnson Power Spence
Smith Sills O'connor

Me + 2 driving up there, hopefully pushing the away attendance into double figures!

I would start with a 4-4-2 formation tonight, simply because we don't have 3 decent central midfielders available. Having said that, I've just rememberd we don't have a left winger! JE has already said that Sam isn't fit enough to start yet, which means we are very short of options.

I would also bring Dale back. Joe has done really well but I think a slightly more experienced head between the sticks might help out our at times shaky defence.

Aaron King has the technical attributes, but won't be able to cope physically.

Me + 1. I take it that the game will defintely go ahead as the temperatures have picked up over the last couple of days? Ive had a look on the Eastwood website and there is no mention of a possible pitch inspection or anything.
