Re: Joe Day transfer fee is.....
Remember when he first started to play and everyone wanted Dale back in goal , as his goal kicks kept going into the stands and was always making bad decisions. His come far though in very little time. Good leaner

But Dale at the time was in no position to return because of the long term injury he sustained playing for England 'C'.coolcuts wrote:Remember when he first started to play and everyone wanted Dale back in goal, as his goal kicks kept going into the stands and was always making bad decisions.

He put in a transfer request, that's why he's listed, nowt to do with him being not that well regarded.Trek wrote:Reading that Peterborough Evening Telegraph reader's comments I didn't realize that the next great white hope for the goalie spot for England, Joe Lewis, is not that well regarded and is on the transfer list so a great opportunity for Joe Day has presented itself.
However, I hope the Posh goal-keeping coach can sort out Joe's desire to punch the ball at every opportunity. He's a big lad, and in my opinion, should be catching crosses more often.

General Tone of the reader's comments:-wewantourdarbyback wrote: He put in a transfer request, that's why he's listed, nowt to do with him being not that well regarded.
'Lewis has not cut the mustard during his stay at London Rd, he does not impose himself on the game enough to be regarded as fully competent'.
Maybe he's part of the reason why Peterborough leak goals right, left and centre. ;)

Judging from his performances against MK Dons and Bournemouth on TV in the last couple of weeks, he is.Trek wrote:General Tone of the reader's comments:-wewantourdarbyback wrote: He put in a transfer request, that's why he's listed, nowt to do with him being not that well regarded.

I think the Posh defenders are more to blame for all the goals conceded that their GK i have seen some highlights of their games and before they got back their current manager their defenders were awful.

Im hearing rumours that the fee was considerable as it includes a buyout of Tomlins sell on fee. This is only from a Posh fan with his ear to the ground.

Well we've lost out if it's anything less than 500k then! Probably a short-term fix with no consideration to the future.RiK2006 wrote:Im hearing rumours that the fee was considerable as it includes a buyout of Tomlins sell on fee. This is only from a Posh fan with his ear to the ground.
