Re: Fall Guys
I feel sorry for HT at times (well a little bit) KC uses her to be his "front man". She dealt with all the shit from creditors chasing payments when KC was Chairman. She was the one who hired and fired people and upset the majority of the staff at Nene Park. And all this for not a penny
KC sits in the background counting his money while HT deals with all the crap, great work KC!

Re: Fall Guys
I don't dispute that. I just think that in the end she has shown herself to care more about generic football in Northants rather than the clubs involved, including Rushden & Diamonds. Laudible in some ways, and maybe this type of franchising is the inevitable future for football. In my view though it goes against the century and more of football culture in this country. A culture that makes it so special.

You're the journalist ;) - do your job :lol:Pressman wrote:So what is HT's 'new' role with KC? Has she left Corby?
I was concerned by you saying "The Trust" had sold us out you meant everybody in that Trust. You could not be further from the truth IMO, but it seems you really are looking at the Trust Board as we only voted on the question that was asked, not the implications nor finer detail of it (that being "do you want to watch football at Nene Park?").
John Souster was asked at the trust meeting what he'd be doing if KTFC came to NP, he said he'd be watching Whitworths FC, however that could well change IF a pheonix club is set up.
Helen (I suspect) might continue with Corby Town FC, she went there to help out whilst Mr Mallinger was ill and dying - that seems a compassionate act to me). They've got a new stadium, a peppercorn rent and no bills. In fact it was my impression that HT would like to see us there. Of course she still has an interest at NP due to Football CV.
Let's not forget that the Trust has ploughed £25 - 30K into this football club per year since it's formation, and it put up it's own account to pledge the money into so the Beasants couldn't get their hands on it. It has also ststed that the money is still there for a new club, if someone sets it up (as might be the Irthlingborough Diamonds Trust).

Re: Fall Guys
I think recriminations are pointless anyway, whilst I'd personally like to see Liam and Steve Beasant's testicales hanging from the flagpoles outside Nene Park (attached to their bodies or not, I don't mind ;) ) but whats done is done - will it bring my beloved club back? All it'll do is make me feel a little better, I have some nice blunt garden shears if we can find said people!!!
I also think KC is culpable, but without him I wouldn't have had a football club these past few years so I'll even let that slide.........I'm a lover not a fighter ;)
I know some people have axes to grind, but I've got no personal issues with Helen, who else would give their time free of charge to do what she's done? I was disappointed that she went to Corby Town rather than just come and watch us, but H does believe in the "football family" and I can understand the reasons why she went, with Peter's illness and untimely death, he too was a real football man.
I wouldn't blame The Trust Board either, I think there could have been some things done much better, but as I (and many others) weren't prepared to stand up and be counted ourselves, who are we to throw stones at those that did? You can please some of the people some of the time eh?
My pledge of a season ticket will stand to a Phoenix club, I'll state that again now, if we get an AFC side off the ground in the UCL I'll pay £300 for a season ticket to help the club's funds. I wish I could afford more to be honest.......if only those 6 little numbers would come up.
I will be asking for The Trust to tear up my ST application as it stands (Robin, who do I contact to do that) as I'm not sure what the immediate future holds, but the pledge of £300 stands as far as I'm concerned (who else will join me in that?), as soon as we have an AFC side and a Treasurer appointed , my cheque will be in the post

Re: Fall Guys
Your loyalty to the trust and HT is very noble, but let's look at the facts here:
THE TRUST: had £750k of Max's money and then ran up another £500k of debt in 18 months, they ended up having no option but to GIVE the club to KC
THE BEASANTS: ran up a debt of £750k (questionable as to how much of that debt was totally down to them) in 7 months and ended up having to GIVE the club back (had it taken off them) to KC
Some similiarity don't you think :|

Yeah, I can see the symmetry of it. Doesn't make it any easier eh? :(bedforddiamond wrote:Your loyalty to the trust and HT is very noble, but let's look at the facts here:

A little over simplistic maybe but I get the gist of what you're inferring. Losing FL status & sponsorship monies was the real killer

KC doesn't have the club, just the ground.

Re: Fall Guys
Alan, I know your views, but at the end of the day looking back will achieve nothing apart from giving me gas and trust me, you don't want that
We have to look forward with an optimistic eye and although there are tough times ahead, I'm quite excited about being involved in the creation of a new club, onwarsd and upwards, anyone who can give us advice and guidance is most welcome...................although I think I'll pass on any financial advice from Mr B ;)

Jim more than happy to let it go... but I'm still so angry that we have arrived at this position.
Perhaps a new week will bring more hope and as I've said before, more than happy to support and give advice to the AFC project
