ET Backs the Poppies
Re: ET Backs the Poppies
I would post my thoughts on this interesting offer from IL but I'd have to ban myself for excessive swearing if I did!
Suffice to say that he must be living in cuckoo land if he thinks any self respecting R&D fan would take him up on his offer......oh, hang on

So, the poor old bloody RDFC fans who have already lost monies paid in season tickets via cash or cheque, now have the unique, once in a lifetime, marketing idea of the year, opportunity to fork out £5 per game to watch Cuckoo Town FC now play at our historical ground. What a great bargain and idea!
I am so sure that people who have already lost £300 to the Bloody Beasant's really would love now to fork out a further £150 to watch that shite. Great idea Sadact - I would love to see how many actually take up the offer - i bet i can count them on one hand.
Doomed to failure.
It seems to say it's free for those people.
I wouldn't begrudge them getting one for free then doing a deal with a true poppies fan. I think they might consider that the likes of Cardoza and Ladak are doing more for them than anyone associated with the Diamonds. After all, some of the cash handed over at that first meeting with KC might have been used to offer them some compensation.

It would be interesting to know where that cash bucket collection on the night actually went :o
It was a tidy sum if I can remember.
To the trust or KC's sky rocket ............ 8-)

As I recall that particular money went to the Trust (but I will check). The amount was published on here I think, just heading out of the office so will check later. Subsequent collections (Pemberton onwards) are with me, and to be put into the AFC Account (which is now setup, just sorting out a few details).Redsnapper wrote:It would be interesting to know where that cash bucket collection on the night actually went :o

Well I might actually take that offer of a free season ticket seeing though I paid for my ST to the club. Don't worry I'm not going anywhere near that ground again but I'm thinking I might at least get a little bit of the £300 back by selling it off to a poppies fan maybe.

Re: ET Backs the Poppies
It would be interesting to know the rent that IL is being expected to pay at Nene Park next season - and how it compares to what the Beasants were charged. If its a similar amount one wonders how the Poppies can afford to subsidise ticket prices alongside their ongoing costs at Rockingham Road and a squad they are saying will push for the playoffs.
Either way, this offer can't be good reading for all those who lost money at R&DFC last season.
