Little steps !! Of course its a proper team, but I know what you mean - its not Senior football, but that will come. I'm really enjoying it and can't wait for Tuesday evening to hopefully see a full strength side take on Bugbrook................never though you'd see me type those words ;)

I consider AFC Rushden & Diamonds a proper team, albeit a youth team this year... Its OUR team, and its great to see so many familiar faces at Kiln Park supporting the lads.

I know where I'd rather be on Saturday afternoon, or in our case this season Thursdays night's... and it won't be lining the scum's pockets.

You could have 140 years of no achievement, or twenty years of glorious victories, you decide.

The thing that's amusing me the most is the thread entitled "The stop Justin Edinburgh bandwagon before it starts Thread". Apparently "his record at Diamonds with a decent squad was mediocre at best".

He came into the job and ended the 08/09 season on a high after two years of shit, beating them in the process, before taking us to the play-offs, playing ****ing subliiiiiime football in the process, on a low budget. You could even go as far as saying that he really built Tomlin into the player he is today. Add to that the stuff he dealt with in the 2nd half of last season and I just don't see how anyone can call that mediocre.

Oh well, if they want to stick with Maison, who's doing a fantastic job on a shoestring budget then that's their choice.

P.S f*** I've just realised how much I miss Justin. I think it's fate that he manages AFC someday, he's only 43 next year so if it took us ten years to get back into the BSS/BSN then surely he'd want another crack at getting us through a set of play-offs?! Here ends my dream sequence. ;)
