Old Diamonds

Post by Sid »

Was at Burton Park Wanderers v Rushden & Higham in UCL 1 this afternoon. Both clubs are managed by Diamonds legends (team mates in the clubs early days), Kevin Fox at BPW and Aidy Mann at R&H.
Aidy named himself as a sub today and I know Kev has done so earlier this season. How old are these guys
It seems old Diamonds never retire, they just warm the bench in the UCL. :)

The old guys appear all over the place......

Today at Corby we had a visit from Nuneaton, managed by Kevin Wilkin and Gary Mills in squad but sadly injured and Wilko's close friend Nick Ashby was in attendance.

Mark Peters of course is in charge of the Youth at Corby and doing very well!

I also saw Darren Collins and Jon Brady the other week.....in a bar (for a change  ) who have both not played in a while as in their words are both "too old"

In answer to your question about how old Foxy and Aidy are.....well over 40 lol as I am now near that age and was only 14 when I first met then both!!!

Good to see a few Diamonds fans at Corby again today

Check Dazza's wiki, did he really have that scoring record post us?

As for Aidy Mann, he was still pretty handy in the legends match.

You could have 140 years of no achievement, or twenty years of glorious victories, you decide.

It certainly beats going shopping with the wife on a Saturday afternoon. No brainer. ;)
