Utto Diamond was texting me throughout the match (after being prompted!!) and he independently estimated the crowd at "600+". As a journalist, he is well used to estimating football crowds. In my experience, he is very rarely wrong.

I said between 450 and 500, but then I am used to being at games where I know the name of everyone on the pitch and the sideline!

My voice still isn't back from last night what a fantastic night it was, great to see smiles on so many peoples faces and incredibly proud of each and everyone of the lads. It was a great victory and i'm sure they'll be many more days/nights like last night to come!!! :D

There was no accurate count done on the gate thats for sure so the attendance declared at the ground is unreliable.

On entry i advised i was paying for 2 adults & 3 kids. The guy was baffled by the amount so i told him how much it should be, paid it over and in we went. There's no way anyone can rely on the declared figure.

Who was the guy on the gate last night? Was it an AFC volunteer or someone to do with Corby?

I was unable to go, however the was lost when my mum said two adults and a programme. When she said to him £7.50 and gave a ten pound note, she still only got £1.50 change :D

Steve says in the programme: "would be delighted if tonight sees a new record crowd for
a Knockout Cup final, beating the tremendous crowd at Nene Park back in May 1999
when the Rothwell Town side managed by yours truly beat Rushden & Diamonds 3-0"

What was the attendance that year?

They were all officials of the Northants FA.
As I posted earlier, they have a very good recording system if they had opened Gates A and B that have turnstiles and are used for all Corby Town's matches so I was very surprised when we entered through the open gate, and gave our money to someone at a table.
