Trialist

Ash Deeney RB has signed for K*ttering

Being a big club and that he announced on twitter

more like he would of been 3rd choice behind Merril and Gillingwater ;)

He was OK. Didn't set the world alight. No great loss.

Being totally honest, I wasn't completely convinced by Deeney after the Rushden and Higham game, but thought he played very well against Brackley, would have liked him to sign to give some extra security, but it seems not that way.

Really hope Jamal Clarke signs though, was exceptional in my opinion against Brackley, and would, again, give us some extra security at centre-back, where we've had issues before.

Not entirely sure about Chilton though, did okay against Brackley, but he has played for Cogenhoe in the Prem before, and he was an unused sub for Sileby in our away game last season, and didn't feature at all in the home fixture, so we'll have to see what happens

From what i've seen Merrill is better than Deeney when fit. But at the moment he's not fit which is fair enough after his illness.

Clarke should be signed and i'm surprised he hasn't been. He's played enough games to make a decision on him now, hasn't he? As for Chilton, after the Brackley game I thought he'd be worth another look. After the Ampthill game I thought he wasn't.

I'm hoping we may see some more trialists in the upcoming friendlies.
They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....

Will be interesting to see if Robbie Maddox makes an appearance against Bedford this afternoon. We certainly need another defender, as Parky won't be able to play for a good few weeks. Obviously Deakins injury came at the wrong time.

Thought Maddox looked good this afternoon but if he's a centre half why didn't he play there today?? The was a good centre half/right back in the crowd N Vaughan may end up sighing for the Eagles but after talking to him sure he was impressed with our set up. Season starts soon & starting line up taking shape though we need to get back 4 settled :!:

I didn't see anything in Maddox that we don't have already, either at centre half or centre midfield, same with the winger that came on, better than Wizz or Matty? No chance

Apparently, it was Faz's brother Rashid who is currently registered on the FA site to play for the Doughboys!

I`d agree with that, nothing better than we`ve already got.
Good game against a decent Bedford side. They suffered a bit from the final ball. Particularly liked their left back.
We were a bit sloppy at times and surrendered possession in dangerous areas, but generally were pretty good. Everyone that came on contributed something and staked a place and gave Starms and Peaksy something to think about. Pre-season has been lengthy, but worth it, as the players are starting to look sharper in each game , and we`ve played some very good sides and looked up for the challenge and not looked that far away from the more esteemed opposition.
Looking forward to the season proper with optimism. :)
