So who do you think should be our new manager?

Maybe in a joint position with Gary Mills?

As much as I'd love to see Andy & Gary at the club, we need to appoint someone with proven UCL experience.

Personally I think to give the job to one or even two ex players who are totally inexperienced in management would be a massive risk !! If we're just throwing out the names of ex players we like I have a few blasts from the past that would bring lots of passion, but would they make good managers? Hmmm I think not !!

I think we need to get behind Peaksy and give him our full support for the remaining games this season, then see if he applies for the job. I then trust Ralph and the others to make the right appointment in the fullness of time having assessed the calibre of the people who apply.

Hopefully there will be some high quality applicants - it must be quite tempting to a few I'd have thought !!

I agree with both of your points! It's important that we don't rush the decision and make a choice on the basis of their managerial career, rather than their playing one. I trust the board will do that and will take their time doing so. I also hope that Peaksy makes it even harder for them by finishing the season with 9 wins and 2nd place! I think it's fair to say that he'll have everyone's support, we all know he's a great guy. :)
R.I.P Dale. We will never forget you.

Agreed. In the past I liked the idea of having a RDFC legend as manager, but I think we'd be much better off with someone with good UCL experience and if possible looking forward, Southern League experience as well.

If you read them a certain way, interesting comments from Mr. Botterill on twitter earlier...

David Moyes might need a new job soon?

Oh heavens preserve us...

Just continuing on the previous theme, I know Andy's had a little experience in management with Leeds Ladies and a few other teams, including a brief time managing a Conference Premier side whose name escapes me - does anyone on here know how that went?

Also, for those of us who don't tweet, any expansion on what Glen Botterill said earlier?

Not much from Mr B only
Decisions, Decisions, Decisions.
Read what you like into that, he may be contemplating going for a dump. Would expect him to apply for 2 reasons.
1 people will expect him to & he wouldn't want to disappoint.
2 big character big job at this level he would love it.
On the plus side he does know a couple of the players.
