Your right, as you get pricks like Wes Emery replying with quotes like we're a joke of a club and for him top join Wellingborough. Best thing is for players to get their heads down, but times have changed with the emergence of social mediadiamondgeezer1 wrote:I really don't think Twitter is the best of places for football players to moan about not playing.
Obviously Alfie was disappointed, and I'm sure most of us understand that, but to post about it on twitter, isn't the best thing to do.
To be honest I don't think Alfie has been happy for a while, it isn't the first time he's posted his frustrations on twitter.
I see Nat Libturd piped up with his own views on the situation, what a surprise!!

Re: Scott Joseph
Pretty boy and slightly better than average at this level.
Needs to shut up and get working hard if he wants to score another 50.
Every player is replaceable I'm afraid.
Crack on and work on your game Alfie.

Would agree with Rik2006, Alfie is an above average striker for this level. Just doesn't frighten defenders, I would be happy to mark him. Think we may see him move on in the summer. Just does not do enough in games.

Alfie may go quiet in games but he always pops up with a goal. He's a that if you need a goal he's the man you'd turn to as his goal scoring record backs up.

Re: Scott Joseph
"Player in upset to be dropped shocker"!!! Frankly I'd be annoyed if he wasn't upset.
The reality is you're only as good as your last gig and Alfie wasn't up to scratch against Wisbech was he? He often goes AWOL in games - but we know he's a good striker.
If he works hard, puts in the effort and scores goals he'll get back in the side again, if he hasn't got the backbone to do that he'll probably move on - players come, players go!!
I think we saw two good new strikers on the field today who have thrown down the gauntlet to Alfie - it's up to him if he picks it up eh? Competition for places is good and will keep players on their toes, no-one has a divine right to a first team slot, you have to earn it, week in, week out.
We create loads of chances but our strikers have repeatedly failed to deliver this season - today we delivered, so I think Peaksy's decision to drop Alfie was vindicated !!

To drop him to the bench was/is fair enough but to put him in the 21's was just disrespectful IMO.

I'm afraid I will have to disagree with you on that one, but everyone will have their own opinion. Some people may think it was a punishment but can't imagine peaksy would of put him in the 21's ONLY because of his attitude after one game. At the end of the day Alfie is a good striker, but he ain't shown the consistency he once did. Alfie needs to get back to the days he does scare defenders, like in the first couple of months last season. But don't think he was the player he was before his injury last season. Not only does he need to get his attitude sorted and buckle down he also needs his sharpness back.Mr Chips Mate wrote:To drop him to the bench was/is fair enough but to put him in the 21's was just disrespectful IMO.
On a separate note excellent from Scott Joseph and can see him being a real threat a brilliant debut. Tom Lorraine had in my opinion an okay game although I was expecting more. A job well done to the team yesterday on a cracking win

Re: Scott Joseph
You need to remember the u21s is effectively our reserve side, so it's where you'd put a player to get a few games to sharpen up - it's not a punishment, but an opportunity to work on your game, sharpen up, show the manager you really want a place in the 1st team. To accommodate the new lads things had to be mixed up a bit - Ben Morgan deserved his place on merit - he has worked his socks off and shown a great attitude and work ethic, both in the u21s and in the 1st team when he's come off the bench - Alfie now has the opportunity to show the same.Mr Chips Mate wrote:To drop him to the bench was/is fair enough but to put him in the 21's was just disrespectful IMO.
It's football - it's why you have a squad. It's not being disrespectful to ask a player whose a bit off his game to work on it in the "reserves" for a few games - sitting on the bench won't help him.
