St Neots V Tiverton tonight....

Post by BartonRaz »

I know it's not Diamonds-related but It's the Southern League Cup Final Second Leg tonight at St Neots.

There's normally a decent Diamonds turnout at St Neots when we're gameless and for those looking for a game to go to this evening the tie is perfectly poised after a 0-0 draw at Tiverton in the first leg.
They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....

I actually keep an eye on St Neots results, having attended most of their games during our under 18s season.

Would like to go back and watch them again at some point, when AFC R&D aren't playing of course. But what with work, I rarely get to attend Saturday games these days, and can't expect my old man to drive to evening games, what with him not being a fan of dark night driving, at least not in the sense of how long it takes to get back from St Neots to Rushden.

I'm heading down to see Luton Town tonight for my football fix with a fanatical Town fan I work with - I'll listen out to the language used by the crowd with interest ;)

Looking forward to it, apparently it's close to being a sell out so should be a good atmosphere !!

I agree - very quiet overall with the odd bit of singing here and there which was very loud when it happened - but all of it positive and aimed at getting behind their team - it worked and they ran out 2-0 winners, first half tamworth probably edged it in truth - second half only one team in it !!

Enjoyable evening overall.

Not sure who else was there but I went to St Nits, best described as OK and not much more, not the best £10 iv`e spent this season but not the worst (having seen Bedford 3 times).
I accept Jack Ashton is an excepting as was Peaksy regarding height=center back, however when the teams walked out last night I did have to confirm I wasn`t at the East Of England, Shire Horse, Best in Show, f..k me England won the Rugby World Cup with lesser beings in the 2nd row. Unless I missed one the St Nits No 6 completed his first pass to a team mate after 21mins, and 80% of what went before either missed The Cozy Stadium or at worst the County. Lewis had a poor game, and The Tea Trolley was grim by his standards both of which tend to mean a difficult night for the hosts.
We have all played the the kid who want`s the ball all the time, when he gets it you know it`s not ever coming back and he is going to shoot from all sorts of stupid places, well everyone will be delighted to know he`s playing No 8 for Tiverton, takes all the corners and free kicks as well
On the plus side, major drop in beer prices, used to be = to top town center, now competing with Withered spoon, Fosters £2.50 Guinless Ex Cold £3.20, possibly a one night special?
Massive crowd which they couldn`t stop talking about, over 520 for a Step 3 Cup Final, well done and sure at least 1/3 of you will be back for the next home game.
One goal in 180 mins of football over 2 legs, and yes I was having a p..s when it was scored, so that can be as good or bad as you want it to be.
Not made any comments on the other thread regarding language, as sure all would agree I doubt I could get through a game without f..k.n swearing, with the exception of the C bomb which I hate, but The St Nits massive got through 90 mins of abject mediocrity last night without a single fuc i g swear word, still I have created more atmosphere in the shower than they managed.
