Yep, one of those that are given 99 times out of a 100 on the half way line and 1 out of a 100 in the box. Today was our lucky day.

Eynesbury were much the better side in the second half, and it took a great save from Finlay to prevent them getting an added time winner, only for Joe Merrill to make a vital interception on what looked like it might be a four v three break, and hit a great ball in to the area that resulted in the penalty. Both of Gearing's last two penalties have almost been saved, but there was just enough power to get a late win we barely deserved - and perhaps that's what you need in a promotion hunt.

Perhaps getting out of jail this afternoon will highlight that we need to strengthen for the run-in - and I agree that Tom Lorraine doesn't deserve to be on the bench behind Berwick.
Of the two games I've attended recently, Berwick has failed to impress me, Lorraine should have started without a doubt.

To be fair I think either of our strikers can count themselves fortunate to start ahead of Tom

Couldn't agree more Dave, not sure how many crap tackles you have to put in before you get an early bath. Today was always going to be one of our hardest games left, they were as good as they could be we were not at our best but hay ho who got 3 points. Great to see Joe back could be just what is needed for that final push. Every confidence we now push on to promotion. Big thanks to Eynesbury made a massive effort to ensure they maximised takings & everyone had a good day, nice people, well except for the clown who wanted to start a argument with everyone, still every Club has one,big plans in the future for them & hope it all goes well. For us One step nearer step 4, only 9 to go.

Dunkley was at least a yard off the pace today, and the 3 or 4 games I've seen Berwick play he's flattered to deceive. Both are proven goal scorers but Tom should be getting a start ahead of at least one of them based on his impact when he comes on and their current performances.

We do miss Confue in the middle when he's not in the side, for all Buntings passing ability, he's not going to disrupt and break down opposition attacks as much as Confue. This was evident with their quick breaks and space given to them around the edge of our area and in the middle of the park.

Anyway a bit of a get out of jail card today, the keeper had no need to rush out like he did with Dunkley with his back to goal and being closed down by at least 2 defenders. Clear penalty and well dispatched by Gearing. An especially good result considering Eynesbury looked likely to push for a winner after scoring the equaliser. These types of wins are sometimes more telling than the 9nils and 7-1's and are a mark of real champions, play not particularly well yet still come away with the 3 points.

The celebrations at the end gave you an idea of how much the players knew how important the 3 points were. The sight of Andrew "sex offender" Barrie running across the pitch to embrace his man crush Braaaaaad! Will live long in the memory

That evens up the disappointment of Wisbech getting a last min win in midweek.
7 more wins for promotion.
But lets beat Wisbech and go up as Champions.

Just a moment prior to Merrils punt upfield I had said "when was the last time we had a last minute winner?"

To be honest with another ref we should have had 3 or 4 penalties. 1 glaring handball by their defender and several blatant pushes in the backs of Berwick and Dunks in the box particularly in the first half. There was no engine in the middle in the second half but the team battled away and survived.

We were very lucky for him to give us a penalty as its another ref we've been given from K*ttering. If it was Craig Druce who was reffing!
