sorry i know they provide a service to fans.. but as much as the quality of the output is just so poor. It just sounds unplanned and messy.

I personally think Radio Diamonds, whether run by volunteers and partly funded by the Supporters Trust/sponsers is a waste of time and resource for a Club in our position.

Exactly who is the commentary aimed at?

Sometimes I do wonder if I'm the only one listening. I'd be interested to hear some listenership figures.

The thing is given that we're generally ignored by Radio Wobbs, even for home games, Radio Diamonds can be the only source for fans living outside of reasonable travelling distance to follow the game.

That is separate to the broadcast figures - which I suspect could only be gauged by a survey - but given I've noted a dozen or so people on here saying they listen, and this forum represents about 10% of the fanbase then it must take the total to around 250.

I know Pete has put a few sounclips on here of the commentary, and they showed the sort of passion you get from a "biased" commentary - but surely that's what you'd expect from this sort of service.

I genuinely like the commentary, as you say it's passionate and biased - which is what I expect and want! The commentary clip for Wolly's goal against Stevenage was amazing.

250 is a good amount of listeners, especially for a small club.

Hey come on, we're a big club in nonleague terms! ;)

I think its a great idea and often listen to it when i can't make it down from uni.. often it is the only way i can support the home games :(

No matter how bias the commentery may be it is still a important service for those fans not able to watch the matches

Out of interest are there any other clubs at Conference level running a radio station on matchdays?
Indeed does anyone know how many clubs in the Premiership and Football League who run their own dedicated radio station for commentary on home matches?
