A half decent performance wouldn't go amiss though... We'll beat Wingate and Finchley but they're lower than us. I know it's only pre-season but it's hard not to get a bit jittery and nervous and if there was ever a season that we needed a good start it's this one, thanks to the ticket prices.

Luckily, in a subtle ploy to raise the morale of the forum users, I've added sparkly pictures to the Index page. Just in time, too. ;)

Results in pre-season count for nothing and are no guide to what will happen in league matches.

That's why I now don't bother wasting my precious time watching these matches and thoroughly enjoyed my ride on my bike this afternoon.

Personally not surprised we got thumped by a team, two divisions higher with far better players and greater resources, who will probably get promotion next season.

Not a good performance.

On Huke, I fear he may have broken his leg. He was stretchered off after a splint was put in place.

The ref was useless and basically let them get away with murder with their tackling.

Hard to get much about some of the new boys from this game. Alan Power was playing the Terry role and seem to struggle and young Johnson just looks a step behind the rest of the team, but he works hard. Joe Keehan looked ok when he came on, knicking a few balls and looks comfortable on the ball. Did'nt see much from Day and only a red card from Charles!

Very good side, wonder how much there squad costs compared to ours. We were chasing the ball all match and when we did get it we were too tired to get forward and produce anything. We seriously need a striker which can score goals, but were is the money for one?

Well it definatly not good but, pre seasons hardly count for anything, and on the Huke injury i dont think it was as bad as it looked because after about 8 mintues after he came out of the tunnel and sat down near to the steps!

Just got back from the game and it was a very disjointed performance; however, we need to remember that we were playing team who will competing for the League 1playoffs and are a week ahead of us in terms preparation. Also we had for the whole match two central midfielders playing at right back and in Johnson a player who was playing against players who were at least 5 levels higher last year and the same also applies to Keehan to a lesser extent. I think what was more disappointing was the performances of some of the more established players especially Osano and Stuart who seemed to have no understanding of each other. Smith again was very poor and the more and more he plays the less I think he's going to make it.

There were some positves and they should not be ignored. Jamie Day simply looks a class act and Dale once again was awesome in goal. I also thought that dispite poor performaces the effort was there especially from Tomlin, Day and Johnson. As someone has said earlier how often have we had superb pre-seasons only to be let down once the competitive matches start and anyway I wouldn't be surprised to see some new faces before the Fleetwood game.
