Corby v Luton

I haven't been to Corby's ground but surely it can't be any worse than the "Elgoods Arena" and Luton have to play one game there this season whether they like it or not :roll: .

Corby still play at the athletics stadium as their new ground (which backs onto the stadium) is not yet ready.
There is only one double turnstyle to enter the ground and a single stand along 2/3 of one side. The rest is just grassy banking outside a 1 metre high fence which surrounds the athletics track.

There is no obvious means of segregation, either in the stand, or on the open parts of the ground.

The only access to the stadium is down a single service road.

Personally, knowing the reputation of the Luton fans, I can't see any way that the tie can be safely staged at the Triangle.

I've got to say I'd love to go. Will be such a cracker, and being from near Corby, I know how up for this the whole town is!

From Corby Town OWS:-

'All supporters must provide identification of Corby residence when purchasing tickets, in order to ensure only home supporters in the home end.'

Is that really necessary? If they turn up wearing a kilt and smelling of booze then it's obvious they're from Corby! :lol: ;)

Thanks RM. Doubtless Luton fear a repetition of the crowd troubles at the end of the play off game against York - an outcome you would expect to result in a hefty fine (although, based on previous experience, perhaps not :roll: )..

My one and only visit to the old Corby Town ground at Occupation Road in the late 70's was a FA Cup fixture against Boston United and I recall the attendance was over 3,000.

However, I was shocked at the amount of alcohol being taken into the ground. Many supporters had a carrier bag full of McEwan tinnies.

No stewards in those days!

watch when corby beat them, it'll obviously be because it was at a small ground.

I think that story was written before the update given on the Luton website.
