Its not applauding that, its applauding his achievements and what a great bloke he was.

Although I prefer minutes silence aswell over a minute of applause.

Well in this case it is at the request of Dale's family.

I thoroughly respect the wishes of Dale's family, but am also disapointed that we are not having a minute's silence, rather than applause.
