JOKE!
Looking at their fixtures, I think it's to do with Gateshead still being in the FA Trophy and having two games more to schedule in than us. Unless they do out of the Trophy, they could have a fixture nightmare on their hands.
I bet the club aren't happy with it. It's up to Gateshead to report this stuff in good time.
We've certainly switched opponents for a forthcoming game at Nene Park at short notice before - I think it was Leek and Welling - possibly in the year of the floods. I don't suppose you'd count the Hillier Cup game we switched to K*ttering after the floodlight problems last season.
I doubt those who've booked advance train tickets will get a refund - I know I've lost out several times in the past when games have been postponed.
Oh well it looks like I'll be missing my first home game of the season. Me and a few others have already booked in a hotel in Newcastle so we will still be going up. I think we will probably be taking in Sunderland v spurs, then a big piss up in Newcastle :P
Our next 6 games are against the teams currently in 16th, 12th, 24th, 23rd, 21st and 18th. If we can win 5 of 6 then we'll probably go to Wrexham in 5th place.
