by a consortium led by an Ian Ferguson, maybe rejected so Calder could make a bid?

Well it's good that Beasant has stepped in but very strange that Calder has left so soon, why would he want to return to Weymouth :?

Did Calder just provide a front for Beasant to take full control? Perhaps this was the plan all along.
I'm not worried, naively maybe, but I do think we are due an explanation.
George Rolls stepped down as Weymouth chairman yesterday. That is a man we DO NOT want involved in our club.

Liam Beasant takes over as Chairman, with Steve Beasant coming in as Chief Executive Officer.

Bloody hell this came out of the blue! Very inexperienced man at the helm now supported by his dad. He must get our full support, but I do worry about the future of the club. Maybe talks of bucket collections are not too far off the mark?? :?
That statement is very inconclusive over exactly what has happened.
The club needs our support more than ever now! Get your mates down NP on Saturday!

Remember at the fans forum me & D4E saying that it seemed Beasant was more in charge,so maybe this was the case
