I think this is the main reason why fans have stayed away. Take the last three homes in eight days for instance, has cost De Bankers (including myself) £51 just to get in, which is alot for non-league football!mattreddan wrote:Its simple why a lot aren't going, £17 to watch a game against Hayes and Yeading for example, it isn't sounding exactly glamorous is it. Clearly higher prices haven't worked, so may as well stop it.

Re: JUSTINS CRY FOR HELP
The issue of price has been done to death on here but its a sign of the times. 20 years ago £17 to watch non-league football would have been a disgrace, nowadays its pretty much the going rate.
One of my mates watches Faversham Town in the Ryman Division One South, and he reckons that the minimum you are allowed to charge adult supporters is £8. That to me sounds ridiculous but this is the way football is going.

Forgive my ignorance as it's been a few years since i've lived in Rushden, but is there still a free bus shuttle service to get people to the ground? NP is a fair distance away for those young and old who can't get their own transport.

Re: JUSTINS CRY FOR HELP
I really do believe it is down to us to get the crowds back...Since I left and went to oz, I know there is 5 people that don't go anymore...mainly because I forced them all to go, Me old man and sis would go because I made them, and a couple of mates, know how much I love going to the football and supporting the team, that they come along for the banter.
I'll be back next season and so will they
promotions could play a big part next year...get the schools in the local areas involved, a few 'bring a mate for free' promotions, will get people in filling up the ground and spending more money
and how about Season Ticket Holders getting say 5 free tickets in there booklet, for the season, which gets someone in with them for free for the game of there choice plus a free programme...could be a great incentive for season ticket holders, and boost the attendances across the season as people will be using there voucher as and when it suits them and their friends.

Re: JUSTINS CRY FOR HELP
I have been a season ticket holder for 13 seasons and I purchase 4 season tickets (2ad & 2ch).
At the minute I am considering not buying them next season, my reasons are as follows;
1) After all the changes at the club and fans forums supporting them, very little of the grand plan and talk at these forums comes out in real life......false promises!
2) There is not a player in the team that gives 110% and is a fans favorite, like a Darby, underwood or Butterworth.
3) We never know what team is going to turn up and this leads to mediocre performances and deep frustration a lot of the time!
4) Edinburgh's childish outburst at a fan a few months ago in front of a lot of families with young children was unacceptable! Yes he made an apoplogy but it's not acceptable and pretty much the final straw for me!
I have supported the club through many ups and downs like a lot of you but the enjoyment of watching this team is dwindling.

Come on Gary, don't let life get you down so much, come up to the bar and have a beer with us. Moaning is all part of the game, giving up isn't.garya2414 wrote:I have been a season ticket holder for 13 seasons and I purchase 4 season tickets (2ad & 2ch).

So what do we do? Give up? Our club has been through the mincer since Griggs pulled out so we MUST give these current guys a chance and not roll over and die2) There is not a player in the team that gives 110% and is a fans favorite, like a Darby, underwood or Butterworth.
Players come, and players go - the CLUB remains. Mills is back and doing a great job and gives 100% to the best of his ability, the GLORY, GLORY, Max bail us out days are over. Stick with it, we can turn it around.
3) We never know what team is going to turn up and this leads to mediocre performances and deep frustration a lot of the time!
So that's football isn't it, I mean it's not life or death is it? We had a real blast with the money Max ploughed into the team, it GONE.
4) Edinburgh's childish outburst at a fan a few months ago in front of a lot of families with young children was unacceptable! Yes he made an apoplogy but it's not acceptable and pretty much the final straw for me!
So, someone apologises and YOU can't accept it? What do you want him to do, grovel to your feet? He's a passionate man, and dead passionate about this club, give him a break. Where's YOUR christian values of forgiveness? Come on, get off that high horse and get behind YOUR club.
I have supported the club through many ups and downs like a lot of you but the enjoyment of watching this team is dwindling.
p.s. - the first round is on you ;)

Re: JUSTINS CRY FOR HELP
1. Give them a chance, they've only just taken over. How can the CURRENT owners be accused of false promisies? If the plans they have don't come to fruition then fair enough, have a pop at them, but they've only been here 5 minutes !!
2. We all have our personal favourites, I dispute the effort isn't there, we're lacking experience thats all - I think you should give the young lads we have a bit more credit personally, an average age of 21-22 won't deliver to the same level of performance as players signed for £50k, £100k and £180k
3. Youngsters will fluctuate in their performances, this side doesn't have the experience the Conference winning side did. We had Championship players here then earning fortunes - now we don't. Encouragement and understanding is what they need to help them grow.
4. He apologised for that, it was a flash of temper, it was wrong and he admitted it - not really sure what more he do other than give blood? If you have never had a flash of temper and done something you later regret then you truly are a Saint, because I know I have - JE is only human !!
You're entitled to your opinion, of course you are, but if you do leave now I think you'll regret it. I think we're on the threshold of good things at the club. There is a positive feeling coming back and it would be really sad to see a fan like yourself who has seen the dross these past few years leave when hopefully the good times are around the corner.
I'm sure none of us will beg you to stay, you'll do what you have to do, but you'll hurt the club you have so faithfully folowed these past 13 years just at the time it needs you the most - that is what's the saddest part of what you say. A very odd time to be leaving when we're on the threshold of good things, but that is your decision at the end of the day.

Max Porter and Aaron O'Connor? You can't argue with their workrate....... for me those two always give their all!garya2414 wrote:I have been a season ticket holder for 13 seasons and I purchase 4 season tickets (2ad & 2ch).

Re: JUSTINS CRY FOR HELP
i think you need to give the new owners a chance to start following up on what they are promising. Maybe in past years some of the things being said may not have been implemented but do the new owners not deserve a fresh chance to prove themselves and follow through with what they are saying.garya2414 wrote:I have been a season ticket holder for 13 seasons and I purchase 4 season tickets (2ad & 2ch).
