At a guess, I'd say that the Beasants - with probably the agreement of Keith Cousins - will have refused the Trust permission to hold the meeting at Nene Park.Rushdenjim wrote:At Raunds football club :? Why cant they hold it at Nene Park, seems stupid
Trust Press Release

Re: Trust Press Release
26th seems far away and I think alot will happen in that time which is probably why it is the 26th. So everyone knows what the exact situation is rather than bad rumours.
The developments over the next few days will probably shape the trusts plan of action.
But who gets the help of the trust first, the youth or the main club
As no club or a club at a lower level probably = no youth

Re: Trust Press Release
Or maybe because at the last trust meeting they had at the ground they couldn't turn the Beasants away as they own the club, so could go in even if they weren't trust members....Biggles wrote:Maybe the Trust cannot use Nene Park as we may be under the illusion the KC owns the Facilities or maybe he just owns the Land.
Re: Trust Press Release
Sorry this is getting a tad confusing. Will any of the Trust Board be at the meeting tomorrow evening does anyone know?

I would think so yes - in fact I am pretty sure that most of them will be there, being fans themselves.supersub wrote:Sorry this is getting a tad confusing. Will any of the Trust Board be at the meeting tomorrow evening does anyone know?

Re: Trust Press Release
I too came to the same conclusion having initially wondered why they wouldn't hold it at Nene Park. I also imagine they will have a bar open, and didn't want the Beasants getting their grubby little mits on any more of our money by opening the Kimberley Suite bar.OsanoIsKing wrote:Or maybe because at the last trust meeting they had at the ground they couldn't turn the Beasants away as they own the club, so could go in even if they weren't trust members....Biggles wrote:Maybe the Trust cannot use Nene Park as we may be under the illusion the KC owns the Facilities or maybe he just owns the Land.

I am only just catching up with this but it hardly seems credible to think that a member of RDFC's Supporters Trust's management board is also the CEO - and inevitably an influential Board Member - at a rival club.PigmanRDFC wrote:Is Helen still on the Trust Board? Seems strange if she is, surely a conflict of interest? :?
What, I wonder, would have happenned had Corby been promoted this year and she had then found herself on the supporters trust board of one club whilst at the same time, a director of another club in the same league?
Does smack a bit of control freakery and of Mrs Thompson hedging her bets but presumably she isn't allowed to have things all her own way so far as the Trust is concerned - although having said that and having in mind BD comments on this Forum the other day, you do start to wonder.
With the problems we have on the Club Board, maybe this is a conflict the Trust Board now need to resolve or at least clarify bearing in mind that, along with KC, HT was also a member of the RDFC Club Board at the time the Beasant deal went through and so also has some responsibility for this present mess.

My personal view is that this is well off the mark. Having spent time speaking to Helen as recently as yesterday (and having volunteered efforts for the club for many seasons she has been involved) I can think of no-one that has committed more of their personal time for Rushden & Diamonds FC, without being paid for her efforts.Chammie wrote:I am only just catching up with this but it hardly seems credible to think that a member of RDFC's Supporters Trust's management board is also the CEO - and inevitably an influential Board Member - at a rival club.PigmanRDFC wrote:Is Helen still on the Trust Board? I also can't really see where there is a conflict. If the Trust was still running the club then yes there would be an issue - but they aren't.
As regards "responsibility for this mess" I suspect it boils down to whether you believe the statements at the time of the takeover (that the club was debt free), or statements made since by other parties.
