Unless the owner has a massive ego and wanted to just throw away money; sponsoring the Diamonds isn't value for money, can't think of any benefit a company would get being associated with the club.
Croyland Motors might think they could sell some extra cars if somebody saw their name on the shirts but a company like Weetabix or Hotpoint just wouldn't be interested.
Weetabix could gain more exposure with just one TV advert during Loose Women then they would through the Diamonds in front of people who already know the brand.
If premiership and championship teams are struggling for shirt sponsors what hope do the Diamonds have?
Sponsorship can come forward in a number of guises
Santa Pod have a number of portable advertising boards which could be placed at the front of the ground for a donation!
There are currently no games on at the moment so another company could advertise on the "upcoming fixtures" board at the front of the ground
Granted some of the companies mentioned may be better to approach if the club can be saved for shirt sponsorship, man of the match, programmes but this thread is worth setting up for both short term and long term discussion and ideas...
....maybe if you like pouring cold water so much you should call the local brigade and see if they have any vacancies for a retained firefighter! ;)
