Re: Poppies ground deal set to be completed
I think if we win the appeal we will stay at Nene Park and K*ttering would have to stay at RR.
In the Chron today there is a fairly length piece about the two appeals, and a quote from Steve Beasant saying that he thought the conference were trying to destroy us, or words to that effect.

If a lease deal that IL wants is agreed with KC prior the appeal then i'm afraid we could not move back to Nene Park as the lease would be signed.BartonRaz wrote:I think if we win the appeal we will stay at Nene Park and K*ttering would have to stay at RR.

If we did win the appeal then it would cause total panic within the Conference hirachy as they would i feel be liable for the costs to Creditors, potential compensation for a lost season if we have no ground and also maybe the full costs of finding us a suitable stadium to play in at Conference level.
In fact the total compensation may exceed what the conference have in the coffers so bring down the whole Conference National League.

You could have 140 years of no achievement, or twenty years of glorious victories, you decide.

A quote from Ladak in the Chron:
Make of that what you will. I'm sure there could be a clause in that lease that says that it would only become affective if Diamonds went under."If we agree a deal at Nene Park and they are successful in their appeal then that is a situation we will have to deal with when it arrives"

Actually may well be the sticking point on the deal, Sadact wants sole access to the facilities as per his Website, however KC has a problem with the appeal and if we won it would not look good that he has signed a deal that locks out the actual Team that calls that ground its Home.

The number are small, but nevertheless it's an interesting development, they're even talking about setting up a phoenix club.TheIncognitoKid wrote:Plops fans vote against NP move.

It's so heated on that forum, I wouldn't be surprised if they started fighting amongst themselves on the PDB!

Re: Poppies ground deal set to be completed
I see someone has updated Nene Park's wiki page
An unusual feature of the stadium are the model Brian Talbots in each corner, to deter children from nesting in the roof. Although on 15th June 2011, the K*ttering chairman Imraan Ladak confirmed the club were looking into the possibility of moving to Nene Park and will merge with Rushden and Diamonds to play under the name of K*ttering Diamonds FC. Northampton Town will continue to be the most despised club in the county of Northamptonshire
