Re: Dale Roberts Terrace
I was talking about this to my dad last night, he didn't seem to think there was a problem with them doing it..
To be honest I think its disgusting. he was a RUSHDEN & DIAMONDS player, this is just another shameless act from Ladick to try and get Ex- R&D fans down there... personally I'd rather sit at home on a Saturday afternoon than watch that shower of shite, and I would hope and other R&D fans would feel the same.
Personally I think they are struggling to attract fans from the Rushden/Ithlingborough area, hence why they have put their season ticket prices down to £150.
The only team I am interested in is AFC Rushden & Diamonds, and hopefully I'll be able to get to tomorrows game.

Yes it is (and very clearly is) a marketing ploy.
However I'm not really against it after considering... it was his footballing home, regardless of what team is currently playing there. Now a little part of Rushden & Diamonds FC will be remembered at Nene Park, as well as a great player.

It's a strange one alright.
If they really just had pure intentions of commemorating a popular local figure, then why did they rename a stand ALREADY DEDICATED to the memory of a community stalwart?
I can't help but feel that it is a ploy, but even so - I'm glad Dale will be remembered at OUR terrace, and the fact that for as long as K*ttering play there there will be a reminder of whose real home it is.
Rest in peace, Dale.

Mixed feelings over this one. I certainly believe it is another marketing ploy from Ladak but would expect nothing less. I am glad that Dale's name is being remember but I think it is a very empty gesture when it means eradicating the memory of another good man.
It will serve as a good reminder of the history of the ground when they are so keen to remove all trace of our club.

I don't think getting season ticket holders as those prices will be a problem (IL reckons around 1000), but at £18 on the gate (I reckon this will change) ? No chance of enticing any floating fans with a free afternoon to spend that kind of money.PigmanRDFC wrote:Desperate measures to attract ex-Diamonds, maybe the season ticket giveaway isn't working as well as hoped eh?? Hope thats the case anyway.
Shameful in my opinion and what must Ploppy fans make of it? A hybrid club in the making and the people behind it have no respect who they use in their attempts at making it work - maybe they'll retire their No 1 shirt next eh?
Another compromise to try and tempt the locals.

I don't think they are allowed to change the admission price for the stadium, although I may be wrong,.Two of Diamonds wrote:I don't think getting season ticket holders as those prices will be a problem (IL reckons around 1000), but at £18 on the gate (I reckon this will change) ? Either way I won't be spending £18 to watch that shower of shite! All I'm interested in is AFC Rushden & Diamonds.

Still find it funny they think getting a 20 year old real madrid C team player is something impressive.. Wilshere was playing for arsenal aged 16? Thats impressive. Playing your trade in a reserve team TO the actual reserve team aged 20 isn't fantastic ... its no different to signing a 1 legged youth team player from someone like man utd, at 20 he should be at least have made it into the first reserve team for them.
Re: Dale Roberts Terrace
I was under the impression that if rdfc were still playing there they would have renamed the terrace after dale Roberts aswell?
Re: Dale Roberts Terrace
If you believe what comes out of ktfc (which I'm sure you dont) they have sold almost all the executive(ahem!) boxes for the next season. In comparison diamonds didn't sell any last season. You do get the impression rdfc were terribly run towards the end.PigmanRDFC wrote:Desperate measures to attract ex-Diamonds, maybe the season ticket giveaway isn't working as well as hoped eh?? We've been told so many things that have turned out to be wrong, and (we suspect) so might you. The car might have a new driver but is it remote controlled? We simply do not trust anything that comes out of that place anymore so that's why we shall not support it (and we ARE the local football fans).nick wrote:If you believe what comes out of ktfc (which I'm sure you dont) they have sold almost all the executions boxes for the next season. Morrell Maison will not be the next manager . . . . . ?
We didn't care for Brian Talbot, but at least he had a professional pedigree.
