Regarding Corby - there were 850 odd there on Wednesday, and they absolutely annihilated Bishop Stortford 6-1. They have some fantastic players.
Don't know enough about BSN football to tell whether Corby are very good or Bishop Stortford were a shambles, but any more performances like that and K*ttering Town supporters might suddenly start finding Corby more appealing given the little distance between Steel Park and Rockingham Road.
I wait with interest to see their attendance on Saturday - they're at home to Hyde.

Hence the ET Arcticle, its vital to Sadact that the floating pay on the day ploppy fans stay with him and don't see Corby as a cheaper, more local and more entertaining shiney new venue on Matchdays.
The attendence Figure for the 1st game at Nene Park on paper looks OK but take away the fact that most were on Cheap and freebie season tickets and on Corporate days out the actual pay on the gate punters if you take off away support was not very many, it will be interesting come 2nd half of the season when the cash flow needs pay on the gate punters as the early season money runs out.

I watched Corby and was very impressed. They have a great squad and I feel are as good, if not better, than our team last season. They have no loan players and the future looks very bright if they can maintain this form. Saturday's match against Hyde will be a better test than a lightweight Stortford outfit.

Meant to ask if you had gone, Trek. I'm not sure i agree about them being better than us - don't think their defence is particularly great - but they're certainly very capable. Did you know that Jordan Smith was signed from a team called Thurnby Nirvana in a Leicestershire local league where he scored 65 goals last season, Ozman (scorer of the 1st goal) was also signed from that level. That's what we at Diamonds had been crying out for for years. Instead we persisted with useless journeymen.
Instead of beating myself up about the death of RDFC i'm going to use this season to watch as much football as possible.

There are lies, damned lies & statistics. We've had them all recently, and at the end of the day you have bills to pay. I don't see any of those stats doing that without a huge subsidy from someone. It works out with 1200 season ticket holders they're paying around £4.34 per person, per game to watch the cuckoos - tell me how that's going to find £1000 a day as we were told. At our height we had 2000 + season ticket holders. ML is right to touch on the break even figures but they wont matter anyway though cos IL's sticking his money in to cover the losses I expect, or is someone else doing so?

That's just what I was thinking watching Wednesday's game.
