Travelling costs for players outside Northants could be a problem.DiamondCarvell wrote:there just options, i can see millsy in two years or so and paul can never be ruled out, he obviously wants us too do well

I agree, we have to wait and see what our budget is going to be. I expect it'll be based somewhat on what we've raised as income this season, minus the budgeted outgoings for next season. It could be that it'll take us a couple of seasons to get up to full strength on and off the pitch.Trek wrote:Travelling costs for players outside Northants could be a problem.DiamondCarvell wrote:there just options, i can see millsy in two years or so and paul can never be ruled out, he obviously wants us too do well

What a legend he is, not just for following me on twitter, but the fact in my eyes, he was one of the best Right Midfielder's we ever had at R&D...

surely quite a lot of the playing staff could well be non contract and play for next too nothingThree of Diamonds wrote:I agree, we have to wait and see what our budget is going to be. I think you'll find a lot of players in the UCL get "expenses", it'll just depend on what we can afford to offer in that respect. Players will still have to be "signed" in order to play for us which is a form of contract. If you imagine we sign a squad of say 20 players, each getting £40 a game, that could be around £40K a season.
Kings Lynn were rumoured to be spending £150k on their "reserve" team !

Re: Paul Hall on Twitter
If we can't pay people outside of Northants expenses then i'd question the ambition of the club. We'd struggle to field a competitive side for a start. I'm damn sure that wouldn't be the case though. Think about it, if we're getting (as an example) 700 at home games, which I don't think is unreasonable, each paying £7 quid a time, again, not an unreasonable amount, then that is 5k right there. Not to mention merchandise sales at each game, programme sales, raffle sales etc. That's before we've added in things like membership and donations.
Obviously i've done a bit of guesswork there on the amounts, but with attendances 5-6x larger than the average for the league we're surely going to be in a position to offer better deals and attract better players than the average team.

Re: Paul Hall on Twitter
Since people are talking about players and to spark a debate, what would those who have been watching the lower levels see as a 'dream' XI for next year?

Re: Paul Hall on Twitter
I went to a King Lynn game recently and was charged £8. I know the general amount in the UCL is £4/5 but given the kind of club we are I don't think it would be unfair to charge more than the average side. Also, we know exactly where the money is going so can be safetly in the knowledge that the money is going to the right people/places.
No doubt it would come down to a vote but i'd be more than happy to pay £7 a time. ;)
