Loads of sad memories, brings it all back doesn't it? :( I remember I was upstairs, just chilling out, watching TV when I logged on the forum to see how we were getting on at Eastwood. Saw the game was called off and all the speculation to what had happened. Went onto the OS and there it was. I felt sick for days after, couldn't concentrate on any work or nothing. I'll always remember going down to NP on the Saturday and laying two bouquets of flowers down, seeing all the shirts, flowers etc made me go a bit teary, and same as Pigman, I stood in my usual position on the De Banke and looked out at the stadium, remembering Dale's finest moments and how much he loved the club and fans. Can remember it like it was yesterday, RIP Dale, still and always be missed by so many people :( :(

It was the day before my second graduation, got home from a meal with my Mum and logged on to see RIP and just broke down.

Cannot believe he's been gone a year. :(

I was en-route to the Eastwood game with my Dad and we were informed that the game had been called off, we couldnt believe it as the weather didnt seem too bad at all. As we were only 15 mins away we decided to go to the ground and find out for ourselves, when we arrived there seemed to be lots of confusion around and no one seemed to know anything. After grabbing some food we set off back home, on the M1 i was checking the forum on my phone and up came the Dale Roberts RIP thread. I was overcome by pure disbelief and shock :(

I was just so shocked and really saddened. I was at home the day after and couldn't settle so drove to the ground. It felt very emotional and I walked in and put something behind the goal. Felt so sad doing that' and then heard family were coming to see the tribute. How theyve coped I don't know. I've never done anything like that before - leaving tributes - scoffed at it a bit to be honest but it really meant something. The game in the summer and the tribute the other night show what we all feel and always will

I was sitting at home, clicked on this forum, and saw the thread about Dale, couldn't quite believe it... Very very sad day, I will be thinking about his family & friends at this time.

i remember sat at home waiting on nws of why the replay was cancelled. went to the ground to put some flowers behind the goal and got chatting to a stevenage fanfrom raunds. he said he felt he needed to come and pay his respects, even though he'd only see dale play against his team. his sad passing has affected us all. such a shame.

Happy memories of Dale now guys n gals !! His reaction to that weird goal at K*ttering, I hadn't even realised we'd scored  Just chatting to him in Strikers bar after games are mine, he was such a lovely unassuming kinda guy :D

Hopefully we'll get to show our respects to him before the game tomorrow night, if not, how about a minutes applause by all of us there 1 minute into the game?? Seems fitting to me??

"Why aren't you celebrating, we've scored!"

Cue bedlam. :D :D :D

Him after the K*ttering away game in the 09/10 season when he was celebrating so much and jumping up and down with us during 'Jump up if you hate K*ttering'.

The way the whole team celebrated the Stevenage goal.

The way he was constantly trying to make us sing louder and louder at the Setanta Shield Final.

There will be a minute's applause prior to kick off tomorrow, and the lads will all be wearing black armbands again.
