They normally have a 'Lower Junior Cup', but I think that might be just for the Reserve League.

Great news we have got confirmation of a placing in a League and not suprisng thats its Division 1.

We no doubt we will go for promotion in our first season, well in fact pointless entering a League and just going for mid table as we do have the potential to go higher given our support.

However the cautious note is that we are not guaranteed success and we will have to fight for it as some teams will up their game to put our noses out of joint if some our fans don't start bigging us up before we kick a ball in anger.

I can see it being like the old days at Nene park , everyone will lift their game when they play us. We will be the team to beat

I don't want us to be "The team to beat" nor to see anyone "upping their game when they play us".

I just want us to be perceived as mid-table obscurities, just another team, making up whatever numbers they want.... right up until the moment when our captain raises the trophy above his head on the last day of the season: and I want that to happen, every season, until we are in the Conference Premier again, this time by right,as an ethical club on and off the field and in our own ground, which like the Club is owned by us, the fans, and no-one else.... and then, maybe, just maybe, we can begin to make up the emotional deficit of the last few miserable years of R&DFC's existence brought on by an over-reliance on over-inflated ego's trying to live a champagne lifestyle on lemonade wages.

Come On You Whites!!

Fantastic we have a league to play in. :D :D :D
While we would all have liked to be placed higher, I'm sure this is morally the correct decision. The UCL, rightly, got a lot of critcisim for allowing Kings Lynn a place in the Premier and I'm not surprised that they won't let anyone else queue jump.
There is so much to look forwad to next season, some great little clubs, lots of local derbies, I can't wait :D
p.s UCL Div 1 clubs play in the Northants Junior Cup, the Hillier Senior is for steps 1-5, there is also a Lower Junior Cup but that is for Combination Div2 and below.

I don't know if the document will be altered after the AGM, but this appears to confirm 1st or 2nd will definitely be good enough for promotion.

"Promotion and relegation between the Premier Division and Division One may be applied to the bottom two teams in the Premier Division and the top two teams in Division One, subject to the ground facilities and administration of any Club eligible for promotion being approved by the Management Committee by 1 April each year. Should one of the top two clubs in Division One not be eligible then consideration will be given to the third placed side if they wish to be promoted."

Everyweeker wrote:I'd be grateful if anyone could put me right on this, but for next season, is this our list of opponents in Division One (bearing in mind the AGM has not yet been)?

1. Bugbrooke St Michaels
2. Wellingborough Whitworth
3. Rushden and Higham United
4. Eynesbury Rovers (is this a place in/near St. Neots?)
5. Olney Town
6. Rothwell Corinthians
7. Burton Park Wanderers
8. Wootton Blue Cross
9. Buckingham Town
10. Northampton ON Chenecks
11. Raunds Town
12. Potton United
13. Bourne Town
14. Northampton Sileby Rangers
15. Rothwell Town
16. Thrapston Town (relegated/voluntarily demoted)
17. Northampton Spencer (voluntarily demoted)
18. AFC RUSHDEN AND DIAMONDS

This would make 34 league games. I believe I am right in saying that Daventry United have given up completely from the UCL structure?

We will also have games in:

FA Vase (if accepted)
County Cup (is this the 'Hillier Cup'?)
A UCL League Cup?

Any others?
It would make sense to make it an 18 team league with us coming in but I don't think we know for certain what's happening in that regards. Not sure Rothwell Town will be in it, they finished bottom and aren't they in pretty serious financial trouble? Also, is there not anyone coming up from the combination?

There's some tidy little grounds in that list, and Hayden Road.

I wonder if Olney will try to get the game moved to stadium:mk?
