Just got back.

to be fair it was a decent work out, Buckby will be near the top of the Prem next season, the lads did well 2nd half, don't read too much into pre-season, it's for the manager to assess the squad 8-)

I think that they must have had a whip round and bought a few bulbs, it wasn't that bad, although their club house sold miners helmets 8-)

I reckon Buckby won't be any higher than mid table although I was fairly impressed with them tonight considering they don't have one player from last seasons title winning side. They have 4/5 lads from Burton park and quite a few youngsters. It was definitely out worst performance so far although being a pre season we shouldn't read much into it.

Was there an XI game tonight then?

We missed a couple of gilt-edged chances towards the end but I don't think we deserved a win. Aynsley was head and shoulders above everyone tonight but him aside the others struggled to assert themselves in what was easily our most competitive game of pre-season so far. I saw Cogenhoe a couple of weeks back and thought they looked a lot better than Long Buckby to be honest.

As for 'Station Road', I don't think i'll be back there in a hurry. The clubhouse was quite good, but the ground looked like it had seen better days to say the least. The grub - which consisted of chocolate or crips - will teach me not to rely on football ground food at this level. I'm bloody starving. :|

Yeah there was an XI game at Winslow which finished 2-2

Have to say I thought it was a good workout tonight with a couple
Of trialists

Buckby will probably be mid table next season so that bodes well

Although what can we really read into Pre season results

Is there a starting line-up for the XI game?
