Unfortunately it's not so simple as that in planning terms. Very often planners like green areas to remain, unless they are earmarked for new housing. Worth looking at the ENC local plan for the Rushden/Higham area in the planning department to see what areas could possibly be used for a football stadium. Remember anywhere close to existing housing wouldn't get a favourable response and most new stadiums are now constructed on the outskirts of towns. Somewhere close to the A45/A6 bypass would be ideal.

Well if the skew Bridge development hits problems could always approach the new land owners as if this present scheme goes tits up then i can see that land staying empty and be a fly tippers paradise for years ahead.
