There was but sadly not enough demand. Perhaps need a bit better organisation and planning to get the message out there for future possible coach trips. I think this once just came too early in the season for us.

After each home game, I'll be putting next fixtures up (Home/U18, and AWAY) at the exit, just to highlight what is coming next.stamboy wrote:There was but sadly not enough demand. It may be worth having a couple of people there (clearly signed) to collect names/numbers for interest in a coach after our next one (not sure which game would be the nest best one for a coach), maybe along with a simple flyer of contact info etc.. That's the best place to catch people (they all have to come past that one point), including a lot of people that maybe don't always travel to aways, but may consider a coach if available for them. Getting the first coach sorted is likely to be the hardest, and then hopefully it can then be self fulfilling. As you say maybe not too many games need a coach, but you may be surprised. Worth a try perhaps.

Yes the thinking was to get people to have a notice up and get people to come to the club shop. Also if we had a little section in the programme in future that would help. As you say the first one is always the hardest and before it was difficult without getting the word out visa the programme/tanoy or posters before the season started.Dazzler wrote:

I do think that coach travel will be a goer this season, especially with the ideas mentioned above coming into effect. It might even be worth putting up posters elsewhere around the D&D advertising away travel.
'Sara Pascoe' was facing the prospect of multiple bus journeys just to get to Wootton on Saturday. I'm sure there are many others in the same boat who would rather pay (probably less) for the ease of a direct coach from the D&D, or perhaps somewhere more appropriate like Rushden or Irthlingborough.
Just looking at the table, there are trips to Eynesbury, Bourne, Oadby, Potton and Buckingham that could warrant a coach or two.

Anyone know of any good pubs which serve nice food nearby?

Re: [ Sat 1st Sep ] v Harrowby United KO 3pm AWAY
There is a pub called the Cherrytree nearby, but it doesn't look particularly nice, the ground is basically on a housing estate, so better pubs in Grantham, a couple of "Spoons" on the road to Harrowby 8-)
