There's Ben Morgan to consider as well.

Although any team in the UCL would miss Alfie, we have players capable of scoring all over the pitch.

Looking at news stories, seems like shoulder ligament damage could see Alfie out for 8 weeks.

Hope he's back sooner than that though, and remember Jake and Ben are more than adequate replacements.

Now is what squad football is all about, so a chance for someone else to shine. Of course if Alfie is out for a period it'll be a MASSIVE blow, he's a quality footballer as we've all seen with his goals and link up play, but this will give someone else the chance to show what they can do.

Get well soon Alfie, rest up and come back all guns blazing - but we've got enough quality in the squad to keep the goals flowing :D

6 - 8 weeks for recovery then. Recommend Wayne Coleman as someone who is great at helping these things to heal.

Poo, ca you just strap it up, take a few paracetamol and get on with it :)

Really though its quite lucky that's its two weeks until the next league game. This Jake Newman though looks like a natural goal scorer, he will have to step up to the plate now.

That's a f'in nightmare.

That said, i've been really impressed with Jake Newman so far so here's hoping he can step up to the plate. Ben Morgan also looked a handful when he came on on Saturday.

We've got goals in the team, this is just the kind of opportunity someone needs to grasp with both hands.

Alfie will come back fit and rested and, having had a nice break (pun intended ;) ), will be fit frisky for the business end of the season.

Seriously, as good as Alfie is (and he has been excellent !!), we're not a one man side and I remain convinced there are goals from all sorts of positions - the lads have just got to pull together as a unit and meet this challenge head on and I'm convinced thats just what they'll do.

Can only agree with you piggers.

We have a squad capable of winning this league, and football is a team game not a one man band.

As you say, It may benefit us later in the season, to have an Alfie Taylor fit and raring to go. 8-) 8-)
