I think you will find that mist/fog is forecast for both Monday and Tuesday nights in the Northants area and being close to the River Nene it could present a problem on Tuesday evening if it persists.
I'm not wanting to cause Formic any extra work and am personally appreciative of all his hard work but when the pre-season friendly against the Doughboys was cancelled, it was agreed that a 'match status' entry be included as standard within the preview so I find it difficult to understand why it's now been discontinued particularly given the fact that the D n' D has flooding issues and we are now moving into a winter period.

Trek, get yourself a Twitter account, and follow AFCRD as you will get almost instant updates on things like this.

It will be difficult to give sufficient notice with respect to fog, which can be very localised and sudden - those of us who were at Grays for the game that was postponed at kick-off time will remember how true that is.

I've got a Twitter account, Ron ;) but I've decided to raise this as I was working in the Club Shop before Saturday's match and one of our fans approached me asked how he could have found out the match was on and I erroneously, as it turned out, told him that there was a match status report on the OWS. However, that didn't help him as he didn't have Internet connection and I duly provided him with the club's official telephone contact number.
Even Chas thought there was a 'match status' report on the OWS.

I agree with that, Formic but any information would be useful to our fans wherever possible.

Thanks for that, BR. Where is that located on the main page menu? It needs to be easy to find.

You beat me to it.
http://afcdiamonds.com/status is a page I or one of the admins generally update with status, to try and highlight if a game is on or not - even if you should check regularly.
It's not linked from the home pages anywhere at present I think - you just remember the URL, or have it as a short cut on your phone.
Usually the same info will already be being discussed on the forums as well. It's not perfect but in most cases it should be fairly up to date. Fog, as Formic said is something that tends to be very localised though. Not sure what WT's history is on fog abandoned matches..but I think we had 2 at Grays that I recall, one part way through a match, and one before the start.

Thanks for that Dazzler. Fog is a problem, I appreciate. I'm less than a mile or so from Steel Park, as the crow flys, and the fog is pretty bad at the moment with a forecast to remain this evening. It's on the edge of the Welland Valley close to the river and it can hang about for some time so it needs to borne in mind for those planning to travel to watch tonight's youth team match. :(
