Re: Radio Diamonds
I've not listened, being at the matches, but anything football related on the radio that's not Alan Green trying to convince up he's not right up Fergie's bum is OK by me.

Re: Radio Diamonds
This was the first time that I have listened to Radio Diamonds since about 2000-2001 and thought it was great.
I'm a fan of midweek games this time of year because I can get into work early and listen to the second half.
As for the commentary...
"Are you related to the Judds?"
"It's in, Diamonds have equalised!"
Simply gold.

I don't see the problem with a bit of humour/chatter in radio commentary. It livens it up IMO and makes it more enjoyable to listen to.

I don't have a problem with it and enjoy the banter, although I couldn't get any reception for last night's game. My only criticism is of last Saturday when they got the scoreline wrong and kept confusing me by repeating said wrong score. I appreciate all the hard work that goes into producing a programme staffed by volunteers and on a shoestring budget. I even appreciate Bruce's offbeat comments, his occasional confusion over the rules and his seriously sixties taste in music. I haven't yet started attending many matches - only 2 so far this season - so look forward to the live, well almost live, commentary which is much preferable to the jerky occasional Twitter updates. Keep Diamonds radio on as I'm sure it will steadily improve as the season progresses.

Don't forget the shed.bozzer wrote:it's not a shoestring budget, it's no budget, the equipment has all been donated or bought by the radio diamonds team themselves.
The shed was donated by Wooden Supplies.
Re: Radio Diamonds
Were you the chap who texted in a few times when I was commentating on the Fakenham match? I think it's a difficult thing to get right. When I do it (and I'll be back for most forthcoming home games) I have almost to stop being a supporter to ensure I don't get overly excited, and I think you can't ask people to suck all the passion out of it or it stops being enjoyable. I must have done approaching 50ish games now, as I did almost every home game for two years so I'd like to think I know what sounds good. Any suggestions anyone has, please let us know, and tune in at the next game, text in and get involved, and we'll see how things run.diamondblade85 wrote:I hate to criticise, especially when people are doing something voluntarily, but Radio Diamonds commentary is truly shocking. Is there not anyone out there who would help to commentate to mix it up a bit?
Re: Radio Diamonds
I feel as if I've got a pretty good knowledge of the team and the UCL, I'd be happy to pass on the knowledge to a commentator
