I hope the Doughboys Yoofs havn't got a match scheduled for Thursday evening. We need a billiard table surface for our silky skills against Basford. ;)

Indeed, it looked bad enough on Saturday, can't imagine what it'll be like by April.ron manager wrote:I can hear the pitch breath a sigh of relief from hereTrek wrote:Chance to give the pitch a bit of a breather bearing in mind today's rain. Needs to be dry the rest of the week.

The area outside the touchline on the right at the far end where the subs warm up was just a mass of mud, but I'm sure the experts will know when it needs to be sanded. The linesman was running on the pitch at times to avoid running on the line itself.

Would make sense in future matches to request that both managers instruct their subs to warm up in the area at the far end behind the goal.Formic wrote:The area outside the touchline on the right at the far end where the subs warm up was just a mass of mud, but I'm sure the experts will know when it needs to be sanded. Two players, speaking independently of each other and without being prompted said to me that the pitch is the best they'd ever seen the D&D this time of year.

I wasn't there Saturday so cannot comment, but I thought it looked great on Tuesday after the weather we had.
As someone commented before, our U18's have had no problem playing lovely football on it!

Did you not see that state of the thrapston pitch last year and the mud the linesmen had to run in for most of the season when they finished the match it looked like they had flippers on! In fact at woodford last year their whole pitch was like that for our u18'sFormic wrote:The area outside the touchline on the right at the far end where the subs warm up was just a mass of mud, but I'm sure the experts will know when it needs to be sanded. Realistically we would love it to be like wembley but it's not going to happen you can't just sort it out, it takes time, it is better and now we have a top guy doing it who knows what he's doing I have no doubt it will get better but it won't be pretty at stages during the season
